This special virtual training session was about disordered eating and eating disorders. It included information on how to identify disordered eating, what causes eating disorders, how to support someone struggling, and community supports available in the Hamilton area. This session was designed for individuals who are struggling themselves, caregivers, friends & family who are supporting someone who is struggling with their relationship with food and eating, as well as anyone who would like to learn more about eating disorders. This session was facilitated by two guest speakers from Body Brave:
- Erin Huston (she/her) is a community educator and the Training & Education Coordinator with Body Brave
- Karen Trollope-Kumar (she/her) is a family physician, Associate Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at McMaster University, Co-Director of the Professional Competencies program at McMaster, and Program Director at Body Brave. Karen and her daughter Sonia founded Body Brave in 2017.
