The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Hamilton Branch is seeking mural artist(s) to complete two murals for our agency. One is a 4’ x 5’ mural on the front exterior of our building at 131 John St. South and the other is a 6’ x 6’ mural inside our newly renovated Spiritual Room.
CMHA is dedicated to showcasing art by persons 16 years of age and up with lived experience of mental illness and/or substance use.
Strong preference will be given to proposals depicting concepts of personal recovery.
The unveiling of the murals will take place during Mental Health Week in May of 2019. The artist(s) will be recognized and an honorarium will be provided.
Exhibition Proposal Requirements:

– A brief description and preliminary drawings of the proposed mural(s)
– Artist statement
– Artist biography
– Brief description of how the work incorporates images of personal recovery
– 3-5 images of previous murals/creative works including title, date, and medium
